Ship Build Purpose

Build Description

The short video below demonstrates the speed.

This is my version of the Viper speed build. This build is a little heaver I think because of the Guardian Frame Shift Drive Booster. With this build I didn’t intend to make the ‘fastest’ or set records, just wanted one that was the fastest in my fleet, which this is. It has a top speed of 692 m/s and a boost speed of 866m/s. That is fast enough to outrun most anything I need to. Otherwise, as fun as this build was to make and is, I find it lacks purpose other than the obvious of going fast. But, hey, had to have a race car in the fleet so here it is. The below videos are not mine but were used as an influence for this build.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Fun to fly and really, really fast. Keep in mind these are Meters per second. Going up by 100 hundred meters per second is the same as increasing your speed by 223 mph.
  • You can outrun pretty much anything or anyone.
  • Good build for anti-gankers.
  • Hard to catch, hard to kill

Cons

  • No shields, to heavy
  • You can run, but why
  • Fun to have but without many purposes
  • Anything else to make it do more adds weight, which defeats the purpose
  • This build needs charge enhanced on the Power Distributor. Without it, it feels it takes a while for the engines to recharge.

Materials Required

The following numbers assume the following rolls required to progress:

Grade 1 rolls - 2
Grade 2 rolls - 4
Grade 3 rolls - 5
Grade 4 rolls - 7
Grade 5 rolls - 10

This can vary greatly since rolls are randomized events, which means these are at best estimates to target.
