Build Description

The Bandit was designed to be a general pirate-hunter-killer. While I’ll admit, I haven’t used it much for this purpose, it should be geared to steal cargo or destroy wanted ships. To achieve this purpose it was outfitted with a Hatch Breaker Limpet Controller and Frameshift Drive interdictor. I even threw corrosive resistant cargo racks in, just in case there was a friendly Thargoid encounter. Granted, for a full-on pirate build it could go further, especially with the Grom Bomb and other outfitting meant to disable vs destroy (such as the Power Play module Pulse Disrupter).

The hardpoints feature 3 Advanced plasma accelerators in the class three spots, one class 2 beam laser, and one class 2 multicannon. The multicannon and beam laser were designed to chew through the shields and keep time on target, why the plasma accelerators were used to knock out modules and destroy the hull. Honestly, this would probably be a little too easy to kill an opponent you just want to disable.

The plasma accelerators are all engineered. one being an inefficient weapon with multi servos. the other being an inefficient weapon with phasing sequence to help with the shield, and finally, the third is an efficient weapon oversized. As you can see on Coriolis or Ed Shipyard, there is heavy engineering on all core modules. Otherwise, this is a blast to fly and built for the illegal things in Elite dangerous life. So of course I had to splurge and help Frontiers profit margin by getting the Raider pack kit. In any event, as I said earlier this is a build I have not used much for the purpose it was intended. It’s sitting in the garage collecting dust, but I’ll use it soon one day.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Very agile.
  • Very powerful
  • Decent range
  • Good general pirate build

Cons

  • It sucks to run out of ammo, but this is a focused build for specific ships. You shouldn’t run out on focused encounters.
  • Fixed weapons – have to git gud.
  • It will get bounties, but that is part of the idea, it was built for those purposes.
