Ship Build Purpose

Build Description

J.O.A.T. Stands for Jack Of All Trades. This ship build is actually rather silly. But hopefully understandable. I intentionally tried to make a ship that could do almost every single thing in the game. An opportunity ship, one that when I went out with no specific purpose this would be the one I would take. So naturally, I chose an Anaconda. It offered all the hardpoints, and optional module slots that I needed, plus gave me the most distance. This build is designed to do Trading, Combat Mining as well as other things. All the core modules are highly engineered and very powerful. Of course it carries a Planetary Hangar Bay because who knows when you might need to go down to the planet surface. The main problem with this build is that it can do everything and specializes at nothing. It is easy to think what you might want a ship like this, however if credits, time and effort are an issue, I would recommend focusing on builds that achieve a specific task.

The only specific task of this build, is it doesn’t have one. Otherwise all three types of mining are supported, point defense installed to protect the precious cargo, frame shift wake scanner to collect data, we even have a corrosion resistant cargo rack in case we have any Thargoid material to transport. Of course we have an advanced docking computer and supercruise assist because we’re lazy. The hardpoints are all oversized with a variety of engineering and experimental effects. it even comes with heat seat law heatsink launchers to avoid scans we’re avoid damage from those nearby encounters with stars. I believe the one type of mission this can’t do is passenger mission. However, you could easily remove the corrosion resistant cargo racks and place a passenger cabin there for passenger missions including rescue. All of these different modules makes this ship a good scouting ship when seeking out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no jack-of-all-trade ships has gone before.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Can do almost anything, but not geared for piracy
  • Very powerful and highly engineered
  • Good opportunity scouting ship

Cons

  • Specialized at nothing
  • Expensive
  • There is most certainly a build that can do any one of these functions way better

Materials Required

The following numbers assume the following rolls required to progress:

Grade 1 rolls - 2
Grade 2 rolls - 4
Grade 3 rolls - 5
Grade 4 rolls - 7
Grade 5 rolls - 10

This can vary greatly since rolls are randomized events, which means these are at best estimates to target.
