Ship Build Purpose
Build Description
I don’t use it, I just built it in Coriolis and thought to upload it, but I built it because of the current state of the Thargoid war, and the orthruses specifically, as I thought it would be interesting to study them and to also explore the maelstroms with less caustic damage taken, less worry from mines, and less worry from the patrolling interceptors, and the possibility for later modules to be added to it to maybe go into the center and explore if we ever get a module to avoid the new neutralizer
Pros and Cons
no shields, so that’s a downside but its needed for the cool running and extra power, all optional slots are taken up by meta alloy reinforcement, so that’s also a minor downside but its made up for in caustic resistance in case you get attacked, it is also highly engineered, which may not be ideal for some people, and it also has a lackluster fuel supply, jump range, and maximum distance possible to travel, as it has no fuel scoop, and can only travel 130 LYs in a full tank, for the strengths, it has almost completely even resistances to everything, its pretty fast going at a top speed of 438 M/S with no boost and 4 pips, and 594 M/S at max boost speed, it has 8 heatsinks usable and runs at around 20-26% heat, according to the build stats, but that’s still in beta
Materials Required
The following numbers assume the following rolls required to progress:
Grade 1 rolls - 2
Grade 2 rolls - 4
Grade 3 rolls - 5
Grade 4 rolls - 7
Grade 5 rolls - 10
This can vary greatly since rolls are randomized events, which means these are at best estimates to target.
