Ship Build Purpose

Build Description

The idea of this ship is to explore systems and planetary bodies whilst being able to extend its range with synthesis and repair systems.
To keep out of trouble, speed was required which led me to refit my Courier to make it lighter and fit most of the scanners required for data collection and a vehicle hanger for material gathering.
As weight is the primary problem, I decided to forego shields in favour of AFMU’s and Repair Limpets.
To provide some defence, I decided on two ECM’s for the odd occasions where Boost may not be available.

It is possible to squeeze an extra 1m/s by using a Stripped Down Power-plant, but you lose 23 points of integrity.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

Speed of 626/850 m/s
30+ Ly Jump Range
3A Fuel Scoop allows top up after a single jump without overheating
Two ECM’s to deal with missiles and limpets
Two AFMU’s
Repair Limpet controller
Vehicle Hanger
Advanced Docking Computer to facilitate planetary and station docking/landing

Cons:

No Weapons
No Shields
No Hull Reinforcements

Materials Required

The following numbers assume the following rolls required to progress:

Grade 1 rolls - 2
Grade 2 rolls - 4
Grade 3 rolls - 5
Grade 4 rolls - 7
Grade 5 rolls - 10

This can vary greatly since rolls are randomized events, which means these are at best estimates to target.
